De nye Odyssey 7 og 7Q har en 7,7" OLED-skjerm med en 1280×800 RGB-pikselmatrise og et bredt fargespekter. Kontrastforholdet er på 3400:1 med ekte svartnivå og minimal bevegelsesuskarphet, ifølge Convergent. I tillegg støttes Bluetooth via en enkel fjernkontroll med iPhone- og Android-apper.

Modulær tilnærming Odyssey 7 selges som en monitor alene, og alle opptaksfunksjoner er valgfrie tillegg. Ved å gjøre dette gir Convergent Design brukerne mulighet til å kjøpe den som en frittstående monitor og senere oppgradere (via internett) om man trenger opptaksfunksjoner.

The Odyssey family is a professional 7.7” OLED monitor with high-end monitor features, including Waveform, Zebras, Histogram, Vectorscope, Focus Assist, False Color, Timecode Display and Audio Level Meters, and 1:1 Pixel mode. Odyssey7 includes HDMI I/O, and SD/HD/3G-SDI I/O; in both single and dual link configurations. As you have come to expect from Convergent Design, Odyssey is low power, lightweight and comes in a rugged magnesium case.

Odyssey7 can be upgraded to a full professional recorder with Avid DNxHD Compressed (36 to 220 Mbps)

Requirements to Upgrading Your Odyssey to a Professional Recorder
1. Purchase a full license, or rent, the appropriate recording options.
Out-of-the-box, Odyssey7 & Odyssey7Q products are monitors only, without any recording or playback capabilities. Recording options must be purchased (or rented) separately from the Convergent Design website. A wide range of recording options will be available, including compressed, uncompressed and various flavors of RAW.

2. Purchase Convergent Design 2.5" SSD media.
To record video, Convergent Design 256/512 GB SSD(s) must be inserted into the unit.
